This class is divided into two four-hour days on the range and is the second step in our Precision Rifle Project.
We continue the basics of marksmanship with the Precision Rifle at distances past 100 yards. The Hilltop area at Cowtown will present various shooting platforms and challenges. Instructors will coach students individually to use their reticles to aim and adjust for windage, elevation, and variable distances. Students will also learn to use their Data Book to record important information on previous engagements (dope) to help them make accurate hits from 100 to 600 yards. Students will learn how to read the wind, judge distance, range targets, and effectively use the MOA or Mil Rad reticles. Emphasis will be placed on building the most effective shooting platform using tripods, bipods, bags, and whatever the environment gives you.
